EDITOR'S NOTE: On December 17, 2000, the Solomon Family Circle gathered at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Roslindale, Massachusetts for the annual Chanukah party.
During the meeting I was elected webmaster, a newly created position which I am sure Joseph and Bessie Solomon could never have imagined.
Family members are invited to send me things to post here on this web site. Suggested items include the following:

THE 1948 FAMILY PHOTO
"This 1948 family picture was taken by a professional photographer, possibly the Franklin Park Studio, at Otisfield Hall. Personal cameras were an oddity in those days." (Murray and Ruth Solomon - January 2001)
"Otisfield is a street in Dorchester, off of Blue Hill Avenue near Grove Hall, where there was a small synagogue (the Otisfield shul). It was near a much larger synagogue on Blue Hill Avenue that was the first large synagogue in that area, built in 1906 when the Jews were just moving into that area). Uncle Paul Solomon (now nearly 99 years old) told me that there was some kind of issue at the larger synagogue, and a number of families left and either started, or went to, the Otisfield shul. Both buildings are still there, and both are now Black churches. The Blue Hill Ave shul still has Mogen-Davids cast into the front stairs, and had a large Mogen-David stained glass window facing the street (where contemporaneous churches had rosettes) until just a few years ago when it was changed into a non-Jewish style of window." (Dick Bauer - January 24, 2001)
1948 Chanukah Party (at Otisfield Shul in Roxbury, Massachusetts)
Murray Solomon, Anne Frager, and Sylvia Rudner agree that this picture was taken by a professional photographer at the function hall of the Shara Tfilo Shul on Otisfield Street (a.k.a. the "Otisfield Shul") in Roxbury, at a Chanukah party, in 1948.

Site Map (Map Of The Solomon Family Circle Web Site)
This website (http://solomonfamilycircle.homestead.com/) is hosted by HOMESTEAD. Most of the pages in this site can be viewed by clicking on the set of navigation links near the top of this HOME page. Links to other pages in this site (and in other sites as well) are embedded in many different places within this home page and other pages on this site.
In addition to the pages on this website, we also have a "SnapFish" photo site (listed below) where supplemental photos are posted.
Pages that are noteworthy or which your webmaster (PSN) feels might need a special explanation (like our password-protected pages), are listed below.
The family tree resides on its own separate web site (our third site). This third site has several pages, but I do not have a site map for it because it was created and is maintained by someone else, namely Bill Roberts. All I did was create a link to it. PSN 6-20-01
If you would like to help maintain this web site, send an email to the Solomon webmaster.
More Photos. In addition to the pages listed above, Bill Roberts has created another web site with several more pages of photos which can be viewed by clicking on the links that appear near the bottom of the post-1950 photos page on this web site. PSN 9-8-02
This photo of baby Ziv was rcvd by Paul S. Natanson in an email from Murray Solomon on October 11, 2001.

The Natanson family: This is not the family you think it is. Your webmaster, Paul S. Natanson, discovered this web site in July 2004 while searching for other Natanson's on the web. This family includes Stan and Ruth Natanson, and their son, Josh Natanson who married Tara DiPace and were gifted with the web site from Tara's parents. (Ownership of the "Natanson.com" domain name is still registered to DiPace.) Through an exchange of emails, I learned that Stan's grandfather, Simon, was from Riga, Latvia (same region as the Solomons). Later, the family moved to Paris where Stan's father, Maurice, was born. The family now lives in the greater Boston area of Massachusetts. I wonder if these Natanson's are related to me?
Editor's note: In an email (in May 2003) to your webmaster (PSN), Folly wrote that Sara Solomon (wife of Max Solomon), and Gert Solomon (wife of Max's brother, Ben Solomon), and Folly's mother, were all sisters. So Folly is a first cousin to Murray Solomon and Dorothy Solomon-Natanson, and the other Siblings. The same applies to Anna Frager and her brothers, Albert Solomon, and Richard Solomon. Folly's brother and sister, have passed away, and all of the Demasks with whom he grew up since the age of 11 months are also gone, so he is the last, and the patriarch, of the Demask family. For more about the relationship of Folly Bloom and the Demask family to the Solomon Family, see "Folly's Supplement" on Murray Solomon's Family History Page. And for even more about Folly Bloom and the Demask family (including Folly's biography), visit the Demask family web site at http://communities
Jon Ezrin family: Jon Ezrin is the son of the late Sam Frager's late sister.
Kagan family: Your webmaster heard a rumor that the Kagan family also has a web site. If anyone knows the URL address, please send it to me in an email so that I can add it here. PSN 5-21-03
Roberts family: These web sites include photos of Mannie Roberts, his son Bill Roberts, and others. Many photos are at http://home.comcast
Editor's note: Mannie Roberts is the son of Sarah Rachel Solomon who is the daughter of Bessie and Joseph Solomon the sister of Ben, Arthur, Max, Paul, and Goodman ("Goodie") Solomon.
Mannie Roberts was originally named Mannie Rothberg. Later, the family name was changed to Roberts and Mannie's first name was changed to Marvin. PSN 5-26-03
Kane Emporium: This web site was created by Harry Kane who is married to Sharon Fleming who is the daughter of Eleanor Fleming whose maiden name is Eleanor Natanson. TheKaneEmporium web site was initially created in June 2003 to hold the photos of Eleanor's surprise 80th birthday party. PSN 6-26-03
Addendum (1-13-05): When I started this website (in December 2000) it was just a single page. And the only thing on the page was the 1948 Chanukah party family photo. In fact, that's why I started this web site - to share that photo. Now, five years later, the site has grown to about 10 pages on at least three separate sites. Who knew? Phew!
I created a this separate web site in December 2005, just for photos. The first photos to be uploded to the site were the ones taken by Al Solomon at the 2004 annual Chanukah party. In the summer of 2007, the service was discontinued and all photos were moved to http://solomonfamilycircle.snapfish.com/snapfish

Family Tree Has Been Updated
After collecting new information for many months, Bill Roberts has prepared an updated and corrected version of our family tree which is available in both a text version and a graphic version. At the top of the text version, I have posted several questions and comments asking visitors to contact me to help fill in missing or conflicting information. Posted by Paul S.
